The Mescal Sheiks: News

Mardi Gras Mambo 2007 Update! - August 7, 2006

Well folks!

We drove past the construction site for the new 700 capacity venue for next year's Mardi Gras Mambo, and to us it looks like there's no way that they'll get it done by Mardi Gras weekend. To us it looks like it will get done just in time for next year's Summertime Stomp in July, but hey....

We won't be making any decision until the end of September (tickets will be available starting October 1st). If we keep it in the same 230 capacity venue across the street, as in the previous years, it will limit who we'll be booking on the bill with us (probably just two acts instead of four- we want to hold the ticket price @ $30), And the caterers will have to down size their plans.

BUT- the party will be great, the food will be terrific, the hurricanes will be flowing, the 2nd line will be moving, and the music will shake!

So start bringing your dancing shoes out, and let them get some exercise.

Because it will be the kick off for the Sheiks 2007 adventures back out in the streets!

Our MySpace Community has grown tremendously since December of 2005.

Our songs from "This World" have been played 11,302 times

7,317 people have visited our MySpace page and...

4,160 friends have become part of our MySpace community from not only throughout the U.S., but all over the world.

And while the statistics are exciting; the reaction to our music, and the relationships within the community we are developing is gratifying beyond anything we could have imagined.

We write songs hoping to touch and affect people.

However, we could be on the road over 200 days year, and still not be able to communicate with the people our music touches the way we've been able to in the past seven months.

This is a whole new world in the creative process that makes it very exciting for people that have been doing this as long as we have.

We want to let you know how much we appreciate each and every one of you, and the support you give us, and the music we create.
